The Namibia Constitution provides for central, regional and local
levels of governance. The central government consisting of the
legislative parliament, the National Assembly and National Council,
the Judiciary (Supreme, Higher and Lower Courts) and the executive
(the President, Cabinet and 19 Ministries)
In 1993 the country was divided into 13 political regions
comprising of 102 constituencies for the purpose of regional
representation. Local government or authorities are provided for by
the proclamation of settled areas as village councils and
municipalities.
